Here’s how I got here,
and why I build the way I do.
I grew up in Northern California.
Beauty everywhere.
And still, I wanted more than
the life I was living.
Before EntreMinds, I worked in California state government:
- At the California Correctional Health Care Services, I worked up to program analyst at headquarters, on medical contracts and patient appeals. The agency covers nearly 100,000 patients across 31 institutions.
- Then at the Department of General Services, as a program analyst and then a research data analyst for California’s 50,000-vehicle state fleet.
In both roles, I worked with outdated tools and systems that still had to be built. I know what that costs: hours and energy away from family.
The work could grow. The role stayed the same. Everything I got better at made their systems better.
And through it all, one quiet feeling would not leave me: I was putting my best work into a system that belonged to someone else.
What I wanted was simple and out of reach: to be home with my son, watching him grow. Then our family’s circumstances changed, and it stopped being a wish. There was no one to take him to and from school. Being at home with my son stopped being something I hoped for. It became something I had to do.
So in 2021, I left government work and stepped into something far more valuable: the chance to be fully present as a father.
I found Estage almost right away — but it was in beta, still being built. So while it grew, I tried other things. Each one taught me what I needed in a platform.
Those systems always had missing pieces — gaps, and data sitting in the wrong places. Estage had all the right pieces, connected in one place. I stayed because Estage kept getting better.
I keep learning how online businesses are built today, and I try each lesson in my own hub first, with modern tools, AI included.
